Railway Sett

My 50th training walk, this one over lunchtime together with Snow White and Bashful. We went along the Frays, up to the Common, past the abandoned ski slope, across to Swakeleys, through the Harefield Place golfers and back along the disused railway. Not quite disused, there's a path and it took us through a badger sett. Then under the A40 through the graffiti gallery and back to work.

I am now 'broadcasting' the walks on Facebook and it was nice to get your comments today - yes, the iPhone voice synthesiser spoke the comments to us while we walked our 9 km. Weird or cool or both, it's an interesting development.

Harefield Place Golf Club

Another loop walk anticlockwise through the Harefield Place Golf Club. Bashful and I were joined by T, J and M. We met helperT on the way back. We covered the 6.5 km at a 17.1 hour pace (per 100 km). Notable today were the numbers Canada Geese, Great Crested Grebes and one magnificent Grey Heron who held us up standing his ground on our path right in front of us.

There are just 63 days left which means the daily average walk has risen to nearly 7.5 km. A tall order, I think.

Harefield Place Course Again

This lunch time, an anti-clockwise loop round the Harefield Golf Club for four of us, Bashful, M, T and me. 6.6 km walked and 388 calories burned. The good news was the pace: 16.95 hours for 100 km: first time the pace has us below 17 hours – not that it’s sustainable, just encouraging.

Harefield Place Golf Club

Speed was the intention today. Doc, Bashful, M, T and I started at at noon and did the Harefield Place Golf Club clockwise walk, about 6.5 km at 17.3 hour pace (per 100 km). I managed to burn off 392 calories according to my phone.

Harefield Place Golf Club

HelperT took us up through the posh part of Harefield and down into the oozing mud below the golf course for a balmy 6.5 km walk that returned us along the canal. Doc and Bashful were more concerned about the stink than I was. Ironicaly it was the iPhone that went into a loop before I did, so to speak. So the tracking mapping failed.
